>Miracle Hour - A Method Of Prayer That Will Change Your LifeClick here to download PDF document. The ultimate focus of all Christian contemplation is always Jesus. Clare shows us that we can only know the meaning of our lives as human beings when we look at the life of Jesus. Gaze upon the Lord; Gaze upon his face; Gaze upon the one Who holds you in his embrace. Look upon your Lord; Look upon his way. Look upon his heart, Which opens to each day. Though he was despised, The lowest of all men, Look upon his sacred cross which brings life again.
St. Clare – Day 2 – Evening Prayer
I offer Thee the most precious body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences whereby He is offended. On the medal one makes a spiritual communion as follows: As I cannot now receive Thee, my Jesus, in Holy Communion, come spiritually into my heart and make it Thine own forever On each bead say: Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, have mercy on us! I place myself in the presence of Him, in whose Incarnate Presence I am before. I place myself there. I adore Thee, O my Saviour, present here as God and man, in soul and body, in true flesh and blood. I praise, and bless, and give myself wholly to Him, Who is the true Bread of my soul, and my everlasting joy.
Our Divine Master has called us to no Gethsemane-watch of strange and mysterious darkness. It is while the brightness of day is breaking — perhaps even long after it has broken — that His call to communion with Himself reaches our not always willing ear. But oh, no! That is a very different matter! A mere ten minutes — is that enough preparation for our warfare and provision for our wants; for spreading all our needs and difficulties before the Lord; for telling Jesus all that is in our hearts; for bringing before Him all the details of our work; for searching to know His mind and His will; for storing His word in our hearts; for replenishing our seed-baskets, that we may have something to sow, and getting Him to sharpen our sickles that we may reap; for confession and supplication and intercession, and, above all, for praise? Ten minutes or a quarter of an hour!
Could you not keep watch for one hour? Sometimes, I go for long periods of time with a rich, full prayer life, then it slips away and for months I struggle to regain that intimacy and depth with the Lord. This write-up emerged at the end of a long dry time, when I was so ashamed of my prayerlessness that I cried out to the Lord for help. I can only do it with Your grace. Please, please help me! He not only gave me a rich, grace-filled hour, but also showed me a simple format for a daily hour that would draw me into deeper intimacy with Him and empower me in my Christian walk. Remember the old saying, "Inch by inch it's a cinch"?
