I chose this poem because I personally like this poem, this poem reinterprets once again Langston Hughes view on equality and his desires to live in a word with equality and freedom without racism. The persona dreams of a world where no racial boundaries are apparent and we all live in harmony and freedom. The personas optimistic tone in this verse conveys the fact that the reality of racial prejudice in society, interferes with such a dream. The use of the abcb rhyming scheme allows the audience to easily follow the poem because of the rhythmic flow. What is the theme of the poem?

The poem like his most of the other poems is all about hope for equality and end of discrimination against the Blacks in America. The poem consists of 16 lines which can be divided into four stanzas having four lines each.
