About the Authors Jay Young and Jennifer Bruursema were early contributors. Leslie, my wife, favorite climbing partner, and the best Fast Forward instructor Washington, DC, has ever known, deserves much of the credit for this book. To my children, Victoria and Dylan, who patiently gave up afternoons, evenings, and weekends with their father so he might put in more time on his book. To my friend, climbing partner, and colleague Doug Hunter, whose complementary knowledge and skills in climbing movement ensured the depth and breadth this book required. His devotion to producing the finest work possible pushed us both to rethink and rewrite whole sections, ensuring a comprehensive and thoughtful treatment of each subject.
