Then, suddenly, on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life, everything she worked for is taken away in one tumultuous moment. In the hospital and forced to face the possibility that nothing will ever be the same again, Margaret must figure out how to move forward on her own terms while facing long-held family secrets, devastating heartbreak, and the idea that love might find her in the last place she would ever expect. A story about survival that is heartbreakingly honest and wryly funny , perfect for fans of Jojo Moyes and Elizabeth Berg. This is a heartwarming and sensitive story that captivated me from beginning to end. Transforms the story of a family tragedy into a heartfelt guide to living the fullest life possible. A marvelous example of acceptance and healing and a celebration of family. One hundred pages later, I realized I had missed six emails, two phone calls, and lunch.

Thank you! A woman faces a new life after surviving a plane crash in this moving story from Center Happiness for Beginners , , etc. Chip walks away without a scratch while Margaret has severe burns on her neck and a spinal cord injury. Now, Margaret has only her family to depend on—her well-meaning but controlling mother, her loving father, and her black-sheep sister, Kitty, who returns to town after years of estrangement. He has a prickly exterior, but Margaret slowly begins to realize that there may be more to him than she initially thought.

You get one life, and it only goes forward. And there really are all kinds of happy endings. While I liked it, there were a few things that I was not a fan of. On this plane ride, Chip proposes and on their way back to the airport to land and celebrate the engagement, they encounter a storm with rain and heavy crosswinds, which causes the plane to roll and crash into a ditch. Chip walks away unscathed, but Margaret is wedged up under the seat and dash. When firefighters rescue her and take her to the hospital, she realizes something major is wrong when she is whisked straight into surgery for a spinal cord injury.
