Final book in Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children series will be published in - donkeytime.orgJun 17, AM. Ayla thinks a great deal about Durc through the books but we never hear about him again. I was imagining his life to play out like Durc in the legend. Broud would be such a crappy leader that when Durc was a man he left with some people and started a new clan with himself as leader. I always pictured Broud dying trying to prove himself to his people after it became clear that Durc would be a better leader.
Auel may add book 7 to Earth's Children series
Her books have sold more than 45 million copies worldwide. Auel was born Jean Marie Untinen in in Chicago. Auel attended University of Portland. In , Auel began extensive library research of the Ice Age for her first book. She joined a survival class to learn how to construct an ice cave, and learned primitive methods of making fire, tanning leather, and knapping stone from the aboriginal skills expert Jim Riggs.
Jean M. Auel may not be done with Earth's Children, after all. But Auel says she has not stopped thinking about her heroine Ayla and her adventures in prehistoric times. It's what I do. Fascinated by life thousands of years ago, to the point where she learned how to make an ice cave and tan leather, Auel started the series in her early 40s and debuted in with "The Clan of the Cave Bear," which later became a film of the same name starring Daryl Hannah as Ayla, the orphaned Cro-Magnon raised by Neanderthals.
The characters and theme of this FanFic novel belong to Jean Auel and it is not my intention to profit in any way from this work. I have tried to remain faithful to Jean Auel's original story concept; so you will encounter sex and violence, but somewhat less than in the original series of books. I felt that if I wanted to continue the story in a recognizable form I couldn't ignore what had come before or change the writing style beyond eliminating some repetition. As you read this book - if you're familiar with the original storyline - you will notice that I have eliminated the overlong travelogues as well as the repeated use of the Mother's Prayer other than a few parts of it when it became essential to the story. The only other obvious change was that I reduced the title of; "The First among Those Who Serve the Great Earth Mother" to "First Zelandoni" since it has to be used so many times during the story and the longer title had always been a bit clunky in my opinion.
In the mids, Jean Auel - then a middle-aged working mother of five school- and college-aged children - approached her husband Ray with some news. You've never even written one. Long before J. Auel pronounced ''owl'' was a publishing phenomenon. The first five instalments of her Ice Age saga, Earth's Children , have sold more than 45 million copies.
