In their quest for world domination in your home, this week Amazon purchased a company called Ring which specializes in video doorbells and security cameras. The idea is that eventually people will allow Amazon to leave packages right inside your home. The best anecdote from this story was not the acquisition itself but the history of Ring in the early days. Siminoff forged ahead with the concept, and news broke yesterday Feb. It would be easy to poke fun at these investors for passing up on the opportunity of a lifetime. This seems to be the way most business schools and books tend to look at the world.

Writing Through History: A Charlotte Mason Writing Program is a homeschool writing program with eight courses that repeat a four-year cycle of world history at two different levels. Level 1 courses break history into four periods: Ancient, Medieval, Early Modern , and Modern , repeating the same cycle of history with Level 2. Drawing from older resources that are in the public domain, Kimberly Garcia has selected historical narratives, fables, fairy tales, the Bible, primary source documents, and poetry that relate to each period of history. Children respond first with either oral or written narrations of the piece that was read. Questions that might help prompt students with their narrations are in the appendix.

Someone mentioned the Draw Write Now books on another thread. This looks like something my kids would really enjoy. If you want them for going along with history do Draw and Write Through History. However, the drawings are more difficult not broken down step by step as much as Draw Write Now. Look at the samples on each site to see what I mean.
