The goal of this tutorial is to open the door to data science programming using Javascript. This tutorial is intended for Javascript programmers without any data science experience. By Elchanan Shor. I love Javascript. I think it is a great programming language. It is a versatile, constantly evolving, ever growing language. It is practically the only language that runs both on the client and server.

Nowadays, the amount of data grows exponentially, and the more information we see, the harder it gets to process it. In the modern HTML5 web, one can hardly deny that JavaScript is the most versatile and simplest technology to make use of for visualizing data. There are numerous JavaScript charting libraries out there, each with their specific pros and cons as with any tools. To make your life easier, I decided to tell you about my favorite ones. Free for any use, but all charts will include a small, branded link. The watermarked version is free. It has been forked more than 20, times on GitHub so far.

The purpose of visualization is insight, not pictures. If you work with data, then Data Visualisation is a vital part of your daily routine. And if you use Python for your analysis, you ought to be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of choices present in the form of Data Visualisation libraries. Some libraries like Matplotlib are used for initial basic exploration but are not so useful for showing complex relationships in data. There are some which work well with large datasets while there are still others which mainly focus on 3D renderings. There are certain features in one that is better than the other and vice versa. In short, there are a lot of options and it is impossible to learn and try them all or maybe, get them all to work together.
