Brandon (Independence, OH)’s review of Satch & Me

Thank you! Stosh is back in a new time-travel baseball adventure. This time, his vintage baseball cards carry him and his elderly friend Flip Valentini to to use a radar gun to determine if Satchel Paige really threw the wickedest, speediest fastball in baseball history. But they are also witness to the humiliation, pain and hopelessness of segregation. Stosh is a terrific narrator, a thoroughly modern kid who understands that the past has much to teach us.

Tuesday, September 6, Satch and Me. The first reason I picked this book was because my brother, Benja read a book in this series and recommended it to me. Another reason I chose this book was because it was short enough that I could read in the time given. My favorite characters were Stosh or Joey , Flip, and Satch. Stosh, a thirteen-year-old boy, was a time traveler and a little league player. Flip, a year-old man, was a baseball coach, a drug store owner, and a baseball player. Satch was a famous African-American baseball pitcher.
