Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book One the Lightning Thief (Paperback) - donkeytime.orgHi guys! I know I said that I was going to post them one at a time, but I failed at that, so I figured I would just post them all at once! So, here they are! Look, they make a mural when they are all lined up next to each other, and the spines make a cool wavy pattern! I put the old cover for each book, and then the new cover so you can compare them.
Proof you are an Original Percy Jackson Fan
My fourth grader has read over pages of this book during the last couple weeks. Although he prefers the 39 Clues serious for more action, I find this book a more valuable reading accomplishment. The exposure to mythology will help to pronounce the names. But, more importantly, if you are on the AR system for reading, this book is worth 13 points. Riordan's 39 Clue book was worth several points and is what helped to choose our current title.
If heroes age the same way books do, Percy would now be 24? Did you run to the most convenient chat forum? Did you talk to people directly, like real face to real face? How was it done?? Tell us please. Because we barely remember.
Book Description In this stunning collectors' edition of The Lightning Thief, Percy Jackson's world is brought to life with eight full-color plates by the series jacket artist John Rocco. The edition comes in an elegant slipcase with a ribbon bookmark, rough edges, and cloth cover--a perfect keepsake for fans of this truly epic series. After getting expelled from yet another school for yet another clash with mythological monsters only he can see, twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is taken to Camp Half-Blood, where he finally learns the truth about his unique abilities: He is a demigod, half human, half immortal. Even more stunning: His father is the Greek god Poseidon, ruler of the sea, making Percy one of the most powerful demigods alive. There's little time to process this news. All too soon, a cryptic prophecy from the Oracle sends Percy on his first quest, a mission to the Underworld to prevent a war among the gods of Olympus.
