Rowling under the pen name of the fictitious author Newt Scamander about the magical creatures in the Harry Potter universe. The original version, illustrated by the author herself, purports to be Harry Potter 's copy of the textbook of the same name mentioned in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone or Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the US , the first novel of the Harry Potter series. It includes several notes inside it supposedly handwritten by Harry, Ron Weasley , and Hermione Granger , detailing their own experiences with some of the beasts described, and including in-jokes relating to the original series. In a interview with publisher Scholastic , Rowling stated that she chose the subject of magical creatures because it was a fun topic for which she had already developed a lot of information in earlier books. Rowling's name did not appear on the cover of the first edition, the work being credited under the pen name "Newt Scamander", who, in the books, wrote this textbook as seen on Harry's supply list for his first year. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a guide book written by British author J. K. Rowling about the magical.

J. K. Rowling and the Curse of the Prequel Series

The world is wider than you know and deeper than you imagine. Welcome wizards, witches, muggles and magical beings of all kinds to the Wizarding World, a place of magic beyond your wildest dreams. There are a legion of new characters to meet, new histories, locations and impossible creatures to discover and an entire lexicon of spectacular spells to add to your wizarding know-how. Now J. Into this world of speakeasies and soaring skyscrapers comes a wizard named Newt Scamander, carrying a rather unusual suitcase, a suitcase destined to lead Newt to spectacular adventure! Now you can get behind the scenes of Fantastic Beasts with new titles that unlock the secrets of the wizarding world from insights into the making of the film, interviews with the actors bringing Newt and his cohort to life to posters, activity books and much, much more.

When J. The Fantastic Beasts franchise adds new entries and addenda to Potter lore, and new branches to old family trees, at a genuinely confusing rate. Together, the pals uncover a conspiracy involving a repressed and very powerful wizard with the Dickensian moniker Credence Barebone Ezra Miller , who is also being tailed by Gellert Grindelwald Johnny Depp , a notorious wizard criminal who preaches magical superiority. Though Newt and Grindelwald are major players, they spend most of the action circling each other, with Newt acting as an advance agent for his former teacher Albus Dumbledore Jude Law. What follows is a twist that is cataclysmically plotted and nigh-impossible to understand.

There is no book by this title or with this subject matter. However, both of these are loosely based off of books by Rowling, and that cannot be forgotten.
